BRASS

Pure brass is one of the most jewelry-safe metals. It only contains zinc and copper, both of which the body needs in the right dose to stay healthy. Jewelry made out of pure brass is non-toxic and safe. When used and stored appropriately, solid brass jewelry can last a lifetime.

GOLD PLATING

A thin layer of a gold alloy, usually less than 5% of the total weight of the jewelry, is applied to the surface of another base metal to create gold-plated jewelry. Avoid wearing gold-plated jewelry if you are allergic to nickel or other metals that may cause sensitivity.

VINTAGE-SILVER PLATED/

Silver-plated jewelry is made by applying a thin layer of pure silver to other non-precious metals. When the silver is scraped away, the base metal beneath is revealed, which is usually brass. As previously stated, silver plating is the process of coating a metal with a layer of silver. This coating’s thickness is measured in microns and can range from 1 to 40 microns.
